Becoming a mom is a life-changing experience.
From the second you see those two lines, that plus sign, the big “positive”, everything changes.
You swear up and down that you are going to be the best mother you possibly can be, and guess what you are.
But – NOTHING prepares you for the teen years. Your precious little angels go from constantly being by your side, and their entire world revolves around you; to having an entire world outside of you.
They may pull away, they may seem distant, but one thing to remember is you instilled in them the keys they need to succeed.
Mommin’ is teaching your babies the things that they need to succeed in life, and then letting them fly while you stand alongside and watch.
Seeing them succeed is one of the ultimate best feelings. Their first steps, their first loose tooth, their first soccer game, their first softball game. You have had a front seat to all of their firsts, and each and every day presents a new one.
Take comfort in knowing that you have taught them the skills they need to cope with growing up.
Take comfort in knowing that you are their safe haven, and they will come to you when they need you.
Take comfort knowing you helped raise an amazing human.
Take a breath, and a step back.
