The F word, I bet I caught your attention. Now, it’s not the word your thinking of, but its a word just as powerful. It is a word that we let consume us and a word that can sometimes take over lives.

What is the F word?

Failure.

Failure is something that happens in everyone’s life, no one can escape it. The difference is how we handle failure. For me, one of my biggest failures was when I was in a body-building competition. I (clearly) wanted to win, but I got second place in masters and sixth place in open and novice. It wasn’t what I expected, standing on that stage I didn’t feel excited or fulfilled. In this case, I did not succeed, I did not reach the goal I wanted to achieve.

I make a dream board every year, 2020 there was a specific status that I wanted to hit and I didn’t come close. I had a great year, but I didn’t hit my goal. I failed, but that’s okay. I’m going to achieve that goal this year.

If you aren’t challenging yourself every day to fail, you aren’t setting your goals high enough.

If you put your goal for something that you can easily achieve, what is the point? You’re settling at that point. You need to put your goal so out of range you have to work every day to achieve it.

I want you to challenge yourself every day to fail. I want you every day to set out to do something you think you can’t do. Challenge yourself to do the heaviest squats in the world, knowing that if you do pull it off, it will be insane. That is the mindset that you need to have to turn your failures into successes.

One thing I tell myself every day is “Enjoy the process”, its something that I want you to remember. I’m always mentally working towards my next goal, I have a tendency to not enjoy the things around me. I want you to enjoy your process, enjoy the phone calls, enjoy the run, enjoy your life.

One of the biggest factors in success is discipline. Discipline is how I have gotten to where I have been. I prepare myself every night for my workout the next day. One of the biggest parts of discipline is you are who has to hold yourself accountable. You are in charge of your own future.

I promise you if you discipline yourself, you will achieve every single one of your goals. You will cross all of the things on your dream board off. The sky is the limit, you will challenge yourself every single day to fail.
