The air seems cleaner and crisper this time of year. It truly feels like you are breathing in a new season of change. Fall weather feels like a little gift we are given every day. I feel guilty if I stay inside and miss out on days like these.
This week I encourage you to get outside, breathe in the fresh air and take advantage of this wonderful season. Take your workout outside this week.
Take your morning coffee or evening dinner to the outdoors. It’s incredible what even five minutes outside soaking up this season will do for your mental health.
“I notice that Autumn is more the season of the soul than of nature.” – Friedrich Nietzsche
Here is an outdoor workout to get yourself moving in the fresh air:
Warm up: Walk 5 minutes
25 Jumping Jacks
Go through each set 1x, then repeat 2-3 more times, depending on your fitness level and time!
Set 1:
15 Burpees
20 Walking Lunges
25 Squat jumps
30 Plank with shoulder taps
Run/Sprint a short straight away
Set 2:
15 pushups
20 split squats each side
25 Wide leg squats
20 side plank with dips each side
Run/Sprint a short straight away
Set 3:
40 Mountain climbers
20 Reverse lunges each side
25 Air Squats
10 inchworm walk outs
Run/Sprint a short straight away
After your workout take 5 minutes to sit in stillness with your morning coffee, or glass of water, whatever you enjoy. Close your eyes and take in deep breaths, clear your mind, and just enjoy the sunshine, the breeze, and the stillness.
Set an intention for your day or think about the things you are grateful for. Don’t go over your to do list or schedule, just sit in stillness and take five minutes outside to just simply be. We were gifted this beautiful season, go take advantage of it this week!
