Hey there, friends! Today, I want to talk about something that’s been on my mind lately – the things we worship in our lives. Now, when I say “worship”, I don’t just mean religion or spirituality. I mean the things we devote our time, energy, and attention to. The things we prioritize above all else.

Think about it. What do you spend most of your time thinking about? What do you obsess over? What do you prioritize above all else? Is it your career? Your relationships? Your social media followers? Your bank account?

Here’s the thing: what we worship has a profound impact on our lives. It shapes our values, our behaviors, and our very sense of self. And often, this impact is unconscious. We don’t even realize we’re worshiping something until it’s too late.

For example, if you worship your career, you might find yourself working 12-hour days, sacrificing time with loved ones, and stressing yourself out to the max. And before you know it, you’ve become a workaholic who’s lost touch with what truly matters.

So, what are some common objects of our worship? Here are a few examples:

  • Social media: We worship our online personas, curating perfect highlight reels and craving likes and followers.
  • Money: We worship the almighty dollar, sacrificing our time and energy for a bigger paycheck.
  • Status: We worship our titles, our possessions, and our prestige, using them to define our worth.
  • Appearance: We worship our physical bodies, spending hours in the gym and thousands of dollars on beauty products.

But here’s the thing: what we worship is what we become. If we worship social media, we become slaves to our online personas. If we worship money, we become greedy and materialistic. If we worship status, we become arrogant and entitled. And if we worship our appearance, we become shallow and insecure

So, what’s the solution? It’s simple: we need to become more conscious of what we’re worshiping. We need to take a step back and evaluate what’s truly important to us. And then, we need to make a choice.

Do we want to worship something that brings us joy, fulfillment, and a sense of purpose? Or do we want to continue worshiping things that leave us feeling empty, anxious, and unfulfilled?

It’s time to rethink our priorities. It’s time to ask ourselves some tough questions:

  • What am I really worshiping in my life?
  • Is it aligning with my values and goals?
  • Is it bringing me joy and fulfillment?

So, what can we worship instead? Here are a few examples:

  • Love: We can worship love, compassion, and kindness. We can prioritize our relationships, our communities, and our connections with others.
  • Personal growth: We can worship self-awareness, self-improvement, and self-care. We can prioritize our mental and emotional well-being.
  • Nature: We can worship the beauty and wonder of the natural world. We can prioritize sustainability, conservation, and our connection to the earth.
  • Creativity: We can worship art, music, and self-expression. We can prioritize our passions and hobbies.

When we choose to worship things that bring us joy and fulfillment, we become free to live a life that’s true to who we are. We become free to pursue our passions, to build meaningful relationships, and to make a positive impact on the world.

So, I want to leave you with a challenge today. Take some time to reflect on what you’re worshiping in your life. Ask yourself those tough questions. And then, make a choice.

Choose to worship something that will bring you joy, fulfillment, and a sense of purpose. Choose to become the best version of yourself.

Remember, what we worship is what we become. The power is yours to choose. So, what will you worship today?
