There was a time when I wanted to rush through every uncomfortable feeling.

If I was sad, I wanted to fix it.
If I was anxious, I wanted to distract myself.
If I was overwhelmed, I wanted to stay busy enough that I didn’t have to sit with it.

And when life was really good? I was already worrying about when it would end.

Somewhere along the way, I forgot that the whole point of being alive is to actually experience it.

Not just the picture-perfect moments. Not just the wins. All of it.

The loud laughter that makes your stomach hurt.
The quiet mornings with coffee before the world wakes up.
The heartbreak that reminds you how deeply you’re capable of loving.
The uncertainty that forces you to grow.
The grief that teaches you what truly matters.
The excitement that makes you feel like a kid again.

Every emotion has something to teach us if we stop trying to outrun it.

I’ve started giving myself permission to fully lean into whatever season I’m in. When life is beautiful, I let myself soak it in instead of waiting for the other shoe to drop. When life is hard, I don’t immediately try to numb it or pretend I’m okay. I remind myself that pain isn’t permanent, but it is part of the human experience.

We spend so much of our lives chasing happiness that we forget happiness isn’t a permanent destination. It’s a visitor, just like sadness, fear, excitement, peace, and joy.

The beauty of life isn’t found in only feeling the good things. It’s found in feeling everything.

Because one day, when you look back on your life, you won’t remember the days you stayed emotionally guarded. You’ll remember the moments that cracked your heart open and reminded you what it means to be human.

Feel the highs.
Honor the lows.
Experience it all.

That’s what it means to truly live.
